Description of the clinical case

This is yet another case in which the patient was using a removable prosthesis and opted for a fixed prosthesis on implants, which would give him back his self-esteem and quality of life.

The patient had been submitted, in the past, to several interventions to remove teeth, she no longer had teeth in her upper jaw, which caused her to lose bone, so when she came to our clinic we presented her with the solution of having zygomatic implants done.

Zygomatic implants have this name because they are implants placed in the Zygomatic bone, and are recommended for patients with a severe or extreme degree of bone resorption, and when maxillary bone grafting is no longer a viable treatment option. And that is what happened with Manuela.

Manuela went through a total oral rehabilitation done in just one surgical intervention with the placement of zygomatic implants in the upper jaw, conventional implants in the lower jaw, and an immediate fixed prosthesis on implants.

Later, after 12 years of successful intervention, the prosthesis was renovated and a ceramic (zirconia) prosthesis was made.
